"Thanks to this system, we can meet our payment obligations with relatively little effort and within the specified timeframe."

4CEE, a provider of purchase-to-pay automation, announces that Rivierenland Hospital in Tiel has successfully completed the implementation of Basware Alusta SaaS.

Rivierenland Hospital (ZRT) is a regional hospital in Tiel with two outpatient clinics in Culemborg and Beneden Leeuwen. As a regional hospital, it is tasked with providing high-quality care in the region amid rising demand for healthcare. This is done under the motto of providing the right care, at the right time, in the right place, and in line with the “2019–2022 Negotiated Agreement on Medical-Specialist Care.”

Joost Brugman, head of financial administration, says: “We have quite a bit ahead of us in the coming period in terms of IT and automation. We are working to bring the entire application landscape up to standard. Many of our applications were—and still are—at the end of their lifecycle, including our invoice processing system, Basware Invoice Processing. Our Electronic Patient Record and ERP package also need to be replaced.”

Cloud migration

Basware Alusta SaaS , Basware’s cloud application, was chosen to replace Basware Invoice Processing. “Our policy is to meet our payment obligations promptly once services have been rendered,” says Brugman. “We always pay within the specified payment terms. In doing so, we strive to efficiently manage accounts payable entry and monitoring. It should also require relatively little effort for budget managers to complete this task.”

Basware partner 4CEE assisted ZRT with the migration to the cloud. Brugman is very pleased with the collaboration. “4CEE did an excellent job of meeting our needs and provided us with the right insights to help us make informed decisions. Kudos to them for their constructive and critical review of our processes, for their input, and for understanding the role that administration plays in a hospital.”

Functionality

At the locations in Tiel and Culemborg, patients can receive consultations for most medical specialties; in Beneden Leeuwen, for neurology, cardiology, and gynecology. To support these activities, ZRT purchases syringes, prosthetics, hygiene products, workwear, and other facility supplies from over a thousand suppliers. Incoming invoices from these suppliers have recently begun to be processed in Basware Alusta SaaS . “Thanks to this system, we can meet our payment obligations with relatively little effort and within the specified timeframe,” Brugman explains.

In the wake of the upcoming ERP implementation, ZRT is exploring further possibilities for using Basware. “Basware has much more functionality than we currently use, such as full flow matching. We’re not ready for that yet, but it will certainly be a topic of discussion,” predicts Brugman.
